City of Sorrow: A documentary Actual PlaY

One of the flagship projects from our 2024 multimedia Kickstarter, ProgCore Fantasy: Dark Age of Theer, City of Sorrow is a documentary-style actual play set in the Dark Age of Theer. Featuring Todd Stashwick, David Nett, Felicia Day, Yuri Lowenthal, Anjali Bhimani, Drea Letamendi, & Marc Bernardin, this 16ish hour story is told in the place where ProgCore Fantasy was born, The Lost Caverns of Didif (Todd’s Nerd Lair). With seven cameras, fourteen microphones, and mighty production & post production teams (headed by director Brian Ward & technical director Zach Wilson), this enormous endeavor aims to capture the feeling of gaming with friends in a familiar space, free from the necessary limitations or theatrical elements that separate most actual play series from at home play.

City of Sorrow is in post production now. We’re wrangling 22tb of footage and 300gb of audio, so it’s a journey. We expect it to release summer of 2026.
